Description

*Edit* I changed some names, took out a character, and decided to put a little more info on each person.

All the most important characters! (And one that no longer exists, lol!) Okay, let's try this: (from left to right)

The deer is Aelfio, Rose's mount. He likes apples. And being brushed. And nibbling on your hair when you aren't looking.

The girl with striped pigtails and fishnets is Kat, Allen's witchy friend. I don't know why I'm telling you this, but she has a gecko named Salazar and is good at calming magick. She happens to have been severely abused as a child, and has had amnesia since she was six, from an almost fatal beating. She was placed in foster care and adopted.

The woman with the mischevious smile at the top, bending over, is Beatrix, Artemis' fiance. She plays a big role behind the scenes, interfering from the afterlife to acheive her ever mysterious goals.

The girl with a long blonde braid and a sad face is Victoria, Julius' little adopted sister. Or at least she would be if I hadn't decided to cut her from the story entirely. I guess that's why she looks so sad. I'd been meandering back and forth between wanting her in and out of the books, but in the end I simply didn't have anywhere to put her. Julius' childhood was centered on being alone, and she would've mucked that up.

The man with a stiped tunic and a guilty expression is Dominic, the guy who started the war between Veronia and Averleigh. Before being found out he holds the position of (get this:) Reeve to Lord Hawksworth, AKA the guy that keeps track of finances and stuff. Seeing as how the war started because of a bunch of money went missing, it's a little too ironic.

The guy with the crown and excessive amounts of finery is Demitrius, the King of Averleigh. He keeps the war going because he is stubborn as an ox, and isn't sure he could face his kingdom if he just backed down and admitted to just lose what would be the modern day equivalent of multi-millions of dollars.

The guy with the scary eyes and feathered hat is Enrique Icaza, Julius' Spanish half-cousin, shown here as possessed by a Demon of Lust. While being possessed, he basically enacts the role of an anti-christ as described in Revelations--a political leader who rises to power through promises of peace, then slowly turns he world against itself while coming out smelling like roses. He is a smug snake. Under his smug-snakedness, however, is a poor bastard child who's been posessed since age six and has not at all wanted to do all those horrible things and kill all of those innocent people, but is forced to watch.

The guy with the large amulet and the spiky hair is Artemis. Artemis was a battle mage for Demetrius Hawkworth, and was captured in battle. Not knowing what he'd done, Julius freed him after the death of his father Theo. A one-sided friendship ensued, and Artemis thought's during the whole three years went a little something like this: 'Don't you understand you're not supposed to be so nice to me--? I'm going to KILL you!'

The girl with black hair in a ponytail is Rose. I keep trying to find the right historically plausible last name for her, though most people at the time had no last names. At the moment I've gone with "Whitewood" which of course would be spelled differently in Old English, but mean the same thing and sound relatively similar. (Whit-wode) or something like that, but I wanted the reader to understand what it reffered to.

The asian looking guy in a business suit is Tsou, Founder of The Society, which is basically a gentlemen's (and women's) club for immortals. He is around 2000 years old, and may or maya not have been a prominent figure in Chinese military history. (No, not Sun Tzu. Though they did get along well.) He basically has plants in every major world government and watches global events unfold like a kid with an ant farm. He's literally the busiest guy in the world, but mysteriously always has time to totally creep on those he's interested in for rather obscure and sinsister sounding reasons, like Allen. He is a magnificent bastard. He is an evil genious who does good. He keeps the world powers (mostly) in check.
Oh, and he's also a dragon god. But that's not important.

The little blonde haired boy is Jacob, Julius' page. He was orphaned by the war and Julius took him in. He runs around acting as everybodies messenger boy and has picked up a variety of trade-skills from those he serves. Tibald, for example, occasionally has him help with blacksmithing.

The man with the eyepatch is Tibald Valliant, Julius' "Uncle". Tibald was friends with Julius' father since mid-twenties, and acts as General and Commandant of Veronia. Tibald is characteristically grumpy and cynical, but he's a good guy at heart, even though he would never admit it. Ever. Seriously, he would strangle you before fessing up to actually loving Julius like a son. Then again maybe Julius shouldn't tease him so much.

The black cat is Bill. Bill used to be human, and also used to think he was going to make himself a fortune in Africa oil. Things change. He's now 180ish years old. Artemis and he met awhile back only briefly before Artemis introduced him to Tsou, whom he now spends all of his time with, as they are both intelligent philosopher types.

The man with blonde hair and a circlet is Julius Aurelious, King of Veronia, son of Theo. He continues his father's war because he is forced to, though he does not want to. He and Artemis have a complicated relationship smathered with a big helping of love, betrayl, obsession, confusion, and all those lovely things which is basically the spawning point of the book series.

The little girl with brown hair in braided pigtails is Emily, Allen's sister. She's kind of adorable, and sassy, too.

The guy in the football jersey giving the thumbs up is Allen. Allen accidently brought a ghostly Julius back from the grave. Oops. Now he's got a 9th century friend of noble lineage. Can't be all bad. Except for the fact that now his life is rife with magick and immortals and family drama and ancient mysteries. Nothing he can't handle. Especially if he steals his father's desert eagle.

The woman with curly bonde hair is Julius' mother, Anne-Marie. She died in childbirth, so he never knew her. She was a peasant who caught the eye of of a both a Lord and his trusty Second in Command. Tibald's still a little upset that Theo won out. Of course he would never let Julius know he had the hots for his mother. I mean, it could be used against him for heavens sake, and we wouldn't want that, now would we?

The girl in the frog hat is Carmen, Delano's fiance. She's twenty years younger than him (well, 18) and doesn't give a single damn about it. She's basically the entire relationship, and Delano just somehow sort of got dragged into it. Well, at least she's cute. ...Now if she would only stop calling him "Ol' man"...

The man with a shock of white hair, a burn, and one eye with no iris is Francesco di Delano. Most people just call him Delano. He hates it when people call him Frank. "What is it with Americans and shortening everything!?" He complains. "They have to make William 'Bill' and Richard 'Dick'. What the hell's so hard about saying my name? It's Francesco, not Frank; FranCESco!" He has Wardenburg syndrome, which is partial albinism of the hair and eyes. He used to be a drug lord, but Artemis did some nasty things to him and set him on a more righteous path.

The terrified looking bonde guy in the hoodie is Thomas. Thomas used to sell drugs for Delano, but it ended up getting his daughter killed and framing him for murder, so yeah, he doesn't do that anymore.

The guy with the long brown curly hair and the rabbit fur cloak is Theodorus Aurelius, Julius' father. He's been watching the events since his death with conern, sitting side by side with Beatrix, whom he never met in life but feels attatched to for various reasons, the biggest being that he was indirectly responsible for her death because he imprisoned Artemis.
