Athens poster by Autumn-Gracy Athens poster by Autumn-Gracy
Fun poster was fun. Use ALL the Cyan ink!

So yeah, I couldn't find any reference photos of the parthenon from the angle I really wanted, so I kind of had to make it from scratch...

Font is Adonias, available free from Dafont.com.

Yeah, the moon is supposed to look that big...kind a a faux camera lens thing that I can't remember the name of.

Was a vector made in illustrator, turned it to jpeg because Deviantart doesn't take kindly to vectors.

Intended size: 10 x 16

Deviant art won't let me make prints the size I intended because of resolution issues, so does anybody know how I can get it to accept a vector (.ai or .pdf) file for prints...? Haven't tried vectors on here before.

Est: somewhere around 30 hours, but that's including thumbnails and roughs.

Thanks! It was made for a computer graphics class; the theme was travel posters from major cities. What I thought was interesting about the Parthenon is that it's usually photographed at such an angle that it doesn't show the surrounding city, but it's right smack dab in the middle one. In one way I suppose this could be seen a sad because it takes away the historical surroundings, but in another it's interesting because the past and present are constantly looking at one another. I went with the traditional colors of Athens (minus the yellow because monochrome is fun) for the poster.
